SEPTEMBER 18, 2010 - ISABEL AND ROWAN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY

This year I decided to celebrate Isabel and Rowan's birthday together since Chris would be missing both of their actual birthdays.  We celebrated with family and friends and the kids really had a lot of fun.  This will actually be the last birthday they celebrate with the family since the next year we will be celebrating them in Hawaii.  Today, I had plan on them being able to swim at our community pool but unfortunately the weather did not allow for that since it decided to rain all day.  We had to do the pinata under the patio area at our community center.  But they still had fun and that's all that matters.

It's time to open the presents!!

Time to blow out the candles! Isabel wanted a large cookie (so I made one) and Rowan well he wanted cupcakes that were white cake and white icing, he doesn't like chocolate!

You go Serena, hit that pinata!

Victor took a swing and I guess the tie holding the pinata up broke, I guess I put too much candy and it was just too heavy!!

Auntie got Rowan a whoopie cushion, he really got a kick out of this!

SEPTEMBER 10, 2010 - FREEDOM WALK AT FT. SAM ELEMENTARY

Today Chris and I went to the kids school to participate in their Freedom Walk.  Chris went with Rowan and I went with Isabel.  This year I have to say it was a little disorganize but it was still nice to be there with them.  Of course the younger kids have no idea what this walk really means.  I have to say that even though it has been 9 years since the attack on 9/11 it is still a hard thing to forget.  I still remember where I was on that day and I know I will forget it.  Everytime I see something on remembering 9/11 it still brings me to tears.  I am however proud to be a military spouse and am very proud of Chris for his service to his country.  I hope that as these kids get older that will truly understand the sacrifices that the men and women make for them and their country.  God Bless America!!

SEPTEMBER - LABOR DAY WEEKEND

We deceided we wanted to do something together as a family so we pulled the kids out of school early on Friday to take them to Sea World which was a complete surprise for them.  We usually go once a year and they have been bugging us to take to Sea World and Fiesta Texas for awhile now.  On Labor Day, we took them to Fiesta Texas with Chris' sister Deanna and brother, Noel and the rest of the family.  We had a lot of fun just hanging out together before Chris leaves again to go to Military Police school.  Rowan was able to ride a few more rides than before and he had a blast.  He loves rides and he had fun riding the roller coaster, the Tony Hawk, and the log rides.  Isabel went on a few but unfortunately she misses out on some because of her height.  But she loves rides too.  Unfortunately for them their mommy doesn't enjoy rides, especially those that spin and are too high.  So you will never see me on roller coasters, tea cups, or anything that can make me sick.  I think Chris keeps hoping that may change someday but I don't believe it will.

Today was actually the perfect day to go to Sea World, it wasn't too hot because it was cloudy and it wasn't crowded because we went on Friday to beat the Labor Day weekend.

We actually got to watch them feed the sting rays, pretty cool.

Below: There was this one dolphin that kept coming up close to have his belly rubbed.  Don't get to experience that everyday.

Fiesta Texas on Labor Day!

Isabel was excited about riding with her cousin's boyfriend with whom she has a crush on.  Shawn really made her day.
