MAY 9, 2010 - MOTHER'S DAY
May 2, 2010 - COOL PICS
We were messing with my dad's new computer and we created some cool pics.
My parents found this turtle on their driveway, the kids sure thought it was pretty cool.

APRIL 2010 - FIESTA/WHAT'S NEW WITH THE FAMILY
Well if you have lived in San Antonio, you know that every year in April the city throws a big party "Fiesta" which has a bunch different events and last for two weeks. We have lived here for a long time if you count before our military life began, and in the past before kids we did Fiesta every year, but since kids the last couple of years we have made it the parades and thats it. So this year we went to the fiesta event held on Ft. Sam Houston, it was pretty good, they had rides for the kids and of course fireworks, so at least the kids had fun. Rowan wanted to ride this crazy ride so here is a picture of that, we unfortunately didn't take too many pics.
Well another quick update, as previously blogged, Chris got his medical waiver approved last month and well he just finally got a new school date. He leaves May 20th for OCS in Fort Benning and will graduate August 12th, which me and the kids will be flying down for and driving back with Chris. Then late September he will go to MP school in Missouri, he should finish that around Febuary. As of right now after all of his schooling they have us going to Hawaii. We are pretty excited about Hawaii, my only concern is the schools for the kids, I have heard that Hawaii's education system isn't great, and unfortunately the schools that are located on post are not run by DOD. Oh well!!! We will just have to see. I can't wait for the next adventure to start, that is what is great about the military. It may not be the easiest life but to be able to see parts of world that you may never have seen otherwise is pretty cool. Hopefully after Hawaii or wherever we go I hope one day to go back to Europe. So that is what is going on with our family. I will hopefully do better at keeping this updated as we go through the remainder of this year.

APRIL 10, 2010 - T-BALL OPENING DAY
Before I got sick we decided to put Rowan in T-Ball. Figured it would be good for him to learn a team sport. He was so excited about playing. So today is opening day and Rowan is really excited. It was funny watching the really little kids (3 to 4 year olds) because they were crying and parents were having to hold them while we waited for the ceremony to start. Typically military you have to have a ceremony for everything and of course they did not start on time. Oh well, it was Rowan's first day and it is so funny to watch little kids play sports. All of them chasing the ball, and just have a great time. Rowan was so proud and looked so cute in his uniform. He just wants to please his coaches and he likes to talk a lot. It is so great to watch him. I really enjoy this age, they grow-up so fast.

APRIL 4, 2010 - EASTER SUNDAY
Today is a really special day because it is General Conference, its Easter and my dad's birthday. So we went to Chris' moms house for Easter breakfast and then the kids did their egg hunt. After that we went to my parents for lunch, birthday, and egg hunt. After lunch we went for a drive in the country where the wild flowers this year are so beautiful. I would have to say this was the prettiest they have ever been. It was also a beautiful day to listen to the prophet and the general authorities talk; and to really think what today really means, the resurrection of Christ and what a blessing to know that because of his sacrifice we can return to live with him again and be with our families. That is what today is about and I am grateful for his sacrifice and for my membership in the church.

MARCH MADNESS - 2010
Well this month has been a crazy one. The biggest thing that happened was me getting sick. I went to a friend's son's birthday party and ended of leaving to go to the ER. I wasn't feeling well before we got there but after eating I started to feel worse. Went to the ER and found out that my gallbadder was bad and that I had gallstones which had caused a blockage in the pancreas and caused me to have pancreatitis. So they admitted me on a Saturday and on Tuesday I had my gallbladder removed. Before surgery I wasn't allowed to eat, so I didn't eat/drink for 4 days. After surgery I started to eat I felt better but I was pretty medicated, and unfortunately my bloodwork wasn't coming back normal because of the pancreas. Apparently my gallbladder was so infected that it had puss and caused me to have a blood infection, and the gallstones and the infection had caused my pancreas to become inflamed. So after maybe 5 days of eating and blood work not getting any better they decided to starve me for 5 days. They put in a picu line which is like an iv except it goes through a major artery into the chest near the heart, so that I could be fed through my iv. Let me tell you by this point I had reached my limit, I was so tired of being in the hospital, a person can only take so much. Chris took basically three weeks off, two of which I was in the hospital. After the 5 days of not eating or drinking I was finally able to eat and I stayed in the hospital for three more days. Total days in the hospital 16. I am feeling much better, I apparently have sustained permanent damage to my pancreas and although I have no idea what that may mean in the future I am at least getting better. If I had been in my 40, 50s my survival rate would of been 40 to 50%. My doctor tells me that I was really really sick. So that was my March, full of crazyness. I am just grateful that Chris was home and was able to be with the kids and me. Grateful for my family and friends and the sisters in our ward, it is truly a blessing to have such great people in my life. During this time, Chris also found out that his medical waiver had been approved. So now we wait for a school date, hopefully it will be soon.
FEBUARY 25, 2010 - ZOO SCHOOL FIELD TRIP
Today I chaperoned Rowan's zoo school field trip. It was a lot fun and I know the kids really enjoyed themselves. Today could not have been a more perfect day for the zoo, the weather for perfect, just the right temperature for the zoo. I rode the bus with Rowan which he was so excited to do and Chris and Isabel met us there. So I chaperoned Rowan and one of his classmates. It was a long day but they all seemed to have a blast.
FEBUARY 7, 2010 - MY BOYS
Today we were trying to get ready to go to church and Rowan decided to wear his boots and instead of putting the pant leg over the boot he wears it tucked in. I kept telling me to take it out but daddy decided to be like Rowan and where his pants the same way, so I decided to take this picture but unfortunately Rowan wasn't cooperating with me. Those two could not be more alike.
FEBUARY 5, 2010 - PRINCESS ISABEL
I was working on my music time for primary and Rowan comes and tells me hey mom you want to see princess Isabel, and I turn around and she looks like this:

As you can see there is blue eyeshadow above her eyebrow, Rowan put the make-up on. If your not carefully they can get into everything, and now its my make-up.
