JUNE 15, 2010 - THE WITTE MUSEUM

I decided to take the kids today to the Witte Museum. For one thing admission is free and I just have to $3.00 for the special exhibits. So we went to see the dinosaurs. Rowan was a little scared to take a picture with T-Rex, especially since he roars and his head and tail move. But Isabel not scared at all. We had to wait outside for a little awhile before they let us in and unfortunately this is Texas people and it is hot!!! But once we made it inside the kids were able to enjoy the dinosaur exhibit. I wish it was a little bigger. After the dinosaurs we went upstair to look at the other exhibits and once we made our way to the painting Rowan said it was boring, so we went to the H.E.B. Treehouse. The HEB Treehouse is really cool for kids, they get to do a lot of hands on stuff. After that we went home. It was a great day and I am glad Rowan and Isabel liked it.

JUNE 4, 2010 - LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

Well today is the last day of school and now summer begins. Rowan has been waiting for this day for the last few months, so I know he is excited about school being over. I hope I make through the summer with both of them home. I am already looking forward to August when me and kids will fly to Georgia to see Chris graduate. And then it is only two weeks until school starts.

JUNE 1, 2010 - KINDERGARTEN AWARD DAY/FINAL T-BALL GAME

Well school is almost over, so today at Rowan's class they held a ceremony for the end of the year. How quickly time flies by now he will be going to first grade and Isabel will be starting Pre-K. I am not sure what I will be doing with my free time, yeah right!!! I know Rowan is glad that he is moving on to first grade, I think he had a hard time with kinder because he didn't really like his teacher. Hopefully he will have a better teacher next year. Sometimes it is just hard to watch these grow-up so fast. Here are a few a pics of his award day. 

Today is also Rowan's final T-Ball game.  He should of had this game almost two weeks ago but it kept getting cancelled because of the rain.  I am glad that we put him in sports this year.  Rowan really enjoyed it but there were times when he got a little bored. I think we will try soccer next. But here are a few pics of his final game. 

 

JUNE 1, 2010 - OUR NEWEST EDITION

Well before Chris left for OCS he started looking at the shelters for another cat, so now we have Sunny. He is a 4 month old orange tabby. He is very sweet and just a love bug. He and Joplin are getting along great and now they are the best of buddies.

May 31, 2010 MEMORIAL DAY

Happy Memorial Day!  I just wanted to say thank you to all of those who have given their life in the service of our country so that we may have the freedoms we have today.  I also want to say how grateful I am to those who continue to serve their country so that we can continue to be safe and protected from those who wish to do us harm.  I am also grateful to my husband for his willingness to serve his country and I am so proud to be a wife of a solider. 

On Friday, May 28, 2010 as I was leaving Fort Sam Houston, I watched families, boy scouts, girl scouts and people from the community place flags on the gravesites and it was a very touching moment for me to see that they were willing to give up some of there time to do this so that we may honor those men and women who have given their lives in service of their country.  This is an actual picture taken of that day (it was not taken by me).
