My sister posted this video on her Facebook page and it is so funny. For those who are twilight fans will understand why this video is hilarious.
JANUARY 29, 2010 - OUR NEW ADDITION
Well for awhile now the kids have been bugging us to get a dog or a cat, and, of course, Chris left the decision to me, because frankly I am the one who is going to end up doing most of the work. So Chris started doing some research about which pet would be good for us. I love dogs but they are a lot of work and time and being in the military and moving around isn't always easy on a dog, especially a large dog. There is just so much to considered. Plus my biggest worry has been how the kids would do. They love animals but they can be a little overwhelming. So after a lot of thought and consideration we adopted a kitten from our local animal shelter. We brought him home on January 22, 2010 after he was fixed. He is 6 mos. old and has short hair, which is a plus because for any of you who know me I don't like hair and mess (me the clean freak). I already vacuum a couple times a day so I just didn't want to do more. I figured a cat would be easier and less time because they do their own thing and it wouldn't require too much work. Also with us in the military a cat is a lot easier to move around unlike a dog, especially if you go overseas. So as of today, we are the proud owners of a kitten. His name is Joplin (a strange name for a male kitten I thought at first he was a girl, you know Janis Joplin). He is a great addition to our family and someone who isn't much of a cat lover, he has grown on me. He is very sweet and likes to follow you around everywhere. He doesn't like to be alone. Of course the hardest thing has been getting the kids to stop driving him crazy. Isabel loves the cat but she treats him like a doll. She is constantly moving him from a one room to the other to be with her. She has even put him the babydoll stroller. They both want him to sleep with him but I explain to them that Joplin will choose on his own where he wants to go and that they need to stop bothering him so much and that the cat is not a doll or a play thing. I hope they will get better as time goes on, but I know it is going to require me repeating myself a thousand times a day to leave the cat alone. Oh well, I am just waiting for Joplin to bite one of them because he has had enough. I have to say I am very surprised at how patient he has been, of course when he sees Isabel coming he is starting to run away from her, oh well.

JANUARY 2, 2010 - SA ZOO
We decided to take the kids to the zoo today. It couldn't have been a more perfect day to go. The weather was great. The kids had a lot of fun. We saw probably a little more than half of the animals. That's what is nice about having a season pass, you can go as much as you want and only spend a couple of hours there or until the kids have had enough.
Here are a few cool pics.

JANUARY 1, 2010 - HAPPY NEW YEAR
Well HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!! I hope this year will bring happiness and new beginnings for all of my friends and family. A new year for new resolutions and hopefully a better year in general. What I hope to accomplish this year is first losing some weight, putting a smile on my face when taking pictures (because I don't like taking them), maybe learn how to play the guitar (and hopefully be near as good as Briana, my niece) and just being a better wife and mother and a happier person. Also I hope to get better in my calling as music leader for primary so that I can teach the kids the music they need to know for this years program. Hopefully this year, Chris will get back to OCS so that he can finish his schooling and we will be able to move to our next duty station and start the next journey in our lives. Isabel will start PK this year and Rowan will be in 1st Grade. So I hope that this year will be full of new and exciting things for our family and that we will be able to accomplish the new year resolutions we have made for ourselves. God Bless everyone and may we all have a good year.
DECEMBER 31, 2009 - NEW YEAR'S EVE
Well for New Year's Eve, Chris' family and mine got together at my parents house because they live out in the country and it is legal to do fireworks out there. It was nice to spend time with both families together. Sometimes it gets too difficult trying to split our time between two families. Rowan of course was all excited about lighting up fireworks, he was like a little pyromantic. Isabel just sat and watched. My dad builded a fire pit and we just enjoyed watching the boys light up the fireworks.

The moon was really pretty, it was a Blue Moon.

Damon, Deanna, Rowan, Isabel, Carolyn (Chris' mom), my dad and Cameron watching the fire.

Briana busy texting. Megan trying to keep little Gage warm.
